New Report: "Reform In The Age of Networked Campaigns"

Yesterday, at an event held at The Brookings Institution, a new report was issued by campaign finance experts Tony Corrado, Michael Malbin, Tom Mann, and Norm Ornstein.  The Report, entitled "Reform In The Age of Networked Campaigns--how to foster citizen participation through small donors and volunteers" offers a collection of important recommendations for reform.  Notably, the report calls for, among other things:  open and accessible communications, including universal and affordable broadband; more transparency with real-time electronic software and single disclosure website; refining contribution limits (to candidates and political parties); redefining public funding by, among other things, multiple matching funds for small contributions, and offering tax credits or refunds for small contributions; and enhancing party-candidate relations by permitting unlimited coordinated expenditures  for political parties funded by small-donor contributions.  Messrs. Corrado, Mann and Ornstein serve on the Board of Trustees of the Campaign legal Center.
